Measurers carrying out a measurement for a running club affiliated to the ARC of a course for which an ARC permit is planned, will be covered by the ARC insurance policy:
The ARC insurance policy provides employers liability and public liability protection to the ARC affiliated clubs. The policy protects the club from claims for bodily injury to volunteers, such as course measurers, acting under the supervision or direction of the club or their officials, and for which the club is legally liable. It also provides public liability insurance for volunteers, such as course measurers, acting under the supervision or direction of the club or their officials, for claims for which the volunteer is legally liable. The policy is subject to a limit of £10m for claims for bodily injury to volunteers and £5m for public liability but the public liability limit will be increased to £10m after 1st April 2008. The policy has a £250 excess for property damage claims. The cover is subject to policy terms and conditions.
A copy of the policy is held by the Secretary of the ARC and is available for inspection if required. If more information on insurance is required, contact the Secretary whose contact email can be found on the ARC Contacts page.
